Just as the name of this 8 days Luxury Tanzania Safari indicates, this package is a fly in / fly out safari that includes two domestic flights between Arusha and Serengeti at the beginning of the safari, and a flight from Lake Manyara Airstrip back to Arusha or Kilimanjaro depending on your requirements. If you are departing from Kilimanjaro in the evening then we will fly you into Arusha where we can book for you a day room (if you wish – at extra cost). In case you have an early international flight out of Kilimanjaro, we will book that flight from Lake Manyara to Kilimanjaro where you will connect with your international flight back home.

This is a private tour and therefore if you have an early departure out of Arusha to Zanzibar we will charge you a flight from Arusha to Zanzibar and therefore you will fly from Lake Manyara to Zanzibar via Arusha.

8 Days Luxury Tanzania Safari Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, Arusha, Tanzania

Arrival this day at Kilimanjaro International Airport where Tanzania Safari Supremacy representative will pick you up and transfer you to Arusha. You will have a short pre-safari briefing with our safari manager who will walk you through your program and what to expect, as well as how to stay safe in the wilderness. Overnight at Arusha Coffee Lodge. Dinner included.

Day 2

Fly from Arusha to Serengeti National Park

After an early morning breakfast at your lodge, we will transfer you to the Arusha Domestic Airport for your flight to the Seronera Airstrip in the Serengeti. On arrival at your the Seronera Airstrip you will be met by your private safari guide from Tanzania Safari Supremacy, who will transfer you to your lodge or Luxury tented camp with your first game drives en route to the camp/lodge. You will arrive in time for hot lunch then you will relax for a couple of hours before heading out for game drives for the rest of the day. You will explore the Serengeti plains until later in the late afternoon when you drive back to your lodge / camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 3 - 5

Safari in Serengeti National Park.

This is a private safari for only you and your partners and thus the flexibility to choose whether to or not to go for an early morning game drives on any of the next 3 days that you will spend in the Serengeti. With a morning game drive an typical day will start with an early morning game drive in the plains of the Serengeti where you will search for the many animals and birds that thrive in the world famous Serengeti. You will return for breakfast at your lodge / camp for a brunch followed by an afternoon rest where you can spend time reading your favorite book at your camp’s Veranda or take an afternoon nap with songs of birds singing in the vicinity.

The Serengeti is one of the UNESCO world heritage site and a world biosphere reserve. It is home to the Big five as well as where the Wildebeests herds of the famous Wildebeests Migration spends the most time of the year.

In the afternoon you will head out for an afternoon game drive until dusk when you retire back to you camp / lodge for campfire as you sip your favorite drink. Dinner and overnight at your camp; Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge. All meals included.

Depending on the time of the year that you travel to Tanzania, we can substitute your accommodation in the Serengeti according to the season and location of the animals.

Day 6

Serengeti to Ngorongoro Highlands (by road)

You will this day take your last breakfast at your lodge / camp at the Serengeti then depart by road driving across the Serengeti towards Naabi Hill Gate where you will make a stop to stretch your legs as your guide sorts out the paperwork to enter the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCAA). You will then drive up the Malanja Depression with game viewing on the way and if you wish, you may also make a stop at a Maasai Village to learn about the culture and traditions of the world famous Masai tribe of Kenya & Tanzania.

You may also make a stop at the Olduvai Gorge an important paleoanthropological site where Archeologists Dr Louis and Mary Leakey  discovered fossils of the hominid Australopithecus Boisei in what emerged as evidence that a hominid in the evolution theory (the Nutcracker Man) roamed the plains of Ngorongoro and Serengeti some 1.5 million years ago. Both Activities Masai Village & Olduvai Gorge is a extra cost and optional.

You will check in at a lodge in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 7

Ngorongoro Crater tour)

Descending early in the morning on this day is very crucial if you want to have a higher chance of spotting animals like the Black Rhinos which can be very elusive during the day. They lineup by the roadside grazing from the roadside but later on hide from the Scorching African sun in the forests like the Elerai Forest located at the floor of the Ngorongoro Crater.

You will descend with a packed breakfast and spend the day doing game drives for the better part of the day until later in the afternoon when you will be taken to Karatu just outside the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Ngorongoro Crater a UNESCO World Heritage site and a Biosphere Reserve is the only place you can spot the Big Five in one day with a little bit of luck. You expect to see lions, leopards (very elusive too), the Buffalos, Black Rhinos, elephants, cheetahs, Thompson Gazelles, Hartebeests, topis silver backed jackals, caracals and many more animals. Over 500 bird species have been spotted and recorded in the Ngorongoro too.

Later in the afternoon you will check in at the lodge in Karatu; a farm lodge that you will live to remember for a long time. Overnight Gibbs Farm. All meals included.

Day 8

Relaxation – Transfer to Lake Manyara Airstrip - Departure

This is the last day of your 8 Days Luxury safari in Tanzania.

Spend a lazy morning in the Gibb’s Farm a multi award winning lodge in the highlands of Ngorongoro. If you still got it, you can also go for a coffee tour walk or why not go for a trek in the Ngorongoro Highlands through the Endoro Trails that will take you to the Endoro Waterfalls and the Elephant caves; let by a trained and armed wildlife ranger.  You will be taken to Lake Manyara Airstrip for your flight to Arusha or Kilimanjaro depending on your departure flight back home.
